Reaching Your Dreams

Life is a journey. Every journey has a destination. This fall in the “Reaching Your Dreams” series, we are going to spend some time hearing from the Lord about our individual and corporate destination. Not heaven and hell. Our destination in this life. Everybody ends up somewhere in life. A few people end up somewhere on purpose. Those are the ones with vision. A clear vision from God, along with the courage to follow through, dramatically increases your chances of coming to the end of your life, looking back with a deep abiding satisfaction, and thinking, “I did it. I finished well. My life counted.” Glorifying God involves discovering His picture or vision of what our lives could and should be and what we could and should accomplish.

The Apostle Paul writes, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10. That means you are the product of God’s vision. You are the outcome of something God envisioned. And through Jesus He has brought about, and continues to bring about, changes in you in accordance with His picture of what you could and should be. God has a vision for your life. Our study this fall will center around the life and vision of Nehemiah. This is a story of hard work, prayer, and (behind the scenes) divine intervention. Nehemiah was just a regular guy who caught a divine glimpse of what could and should be. And then went after it with all his heart. My prayer is that we will hear the word of the Lord from this series. In conjunction with this series we will be reading “Reaching Your Dreams” by Tommy Barnett. (Books go on sale August 31 for $8.00). You might also consider joining one of our small groups that will be doing a study of the book.
