Together in the Word, Celebration, and Prayer

Dear Cornerstone Family,

We are entering into a very sacred and important season of preparation for those who follow Jesus. Easter is a time of remembering the joy and power of His resurrection and ours. Holy Week is a time of remembering the pain and rejection Jesus faced for us as He offered the Kingdom of God to those who were too busy with their own kingdom.

As we approach Easter, the Lord is calling us to share in the joy of His Kingdom and not be too distracted by our own. As a parent of school-aged children, I can’t imagine a busier time in my own “kingdom” than now, but I know God has something very special in store for His church if we will join together and declare the power of His resurrection. There are several ways the Lord is calling Cornerstone together in this sacred season:

TOGETHER IN THE WORD
“Any story is the right story when it’s given to Jesus!” This is God’s call for us to let people know that their stories can become His at the Cross this Easter. Recounting the days leading up to Jesus’ death and resurrection, we will walk through John 12 preparing our hearts, lives and actions to share His Miracle with the world around us:

Communion Sunday, April 3
John 12:1-8: Who will you pray to know Christ?
Missions Sunday , April 10
John 12:9-11: Who will you invite to know Christ?

Palm Sunday, April 17
John 12:12-19: Who will you serve to know Christ?

Easter Sunday, April 24
Services at 8:30am, 9:45am, & 11:00am
Praying those invited experience His Miracle of new life!
Anniversary Sunday, May 1
What will you give that others might know Christ?
Recounting God’s faithfulness to the Cornerstone family

TOGETHER IN PRAYER
During this special season, there will also be opportunities to come together in prayer:

Day of Prayer & Fasting, April 11, 7:00-8:15pm
Our monthly time will focus on intercession for the lost and transformation of the saved that we might draw others into His Kingdom.

Journey To The Cross, April 21 & 22, 5:00-8:30pm
Formerly “Experience The Passion,” this year we will have two days to come and prayerfully walk through, touch and experience God’s heart in the stations of the Cross. An extra day is added to invite friends after you have gone through it yourself.
TOGETHER IN GIVING
We recognize how much Christ has given to us as we celebrate Easter. This is why Cornerstone always takes a special offering, above and beyond our regular giving, as an act of praise for the miracle of the Cross and a desire to be part of His future Kingdom work. Here are the projects we will support:

Japan & Convoy of Hope (offering taken on Missions Sunday, April 10)
God has called us to specifically give to this organization that focuses on giving humanitarian and spiritual aid through the local churches of Japan. People will directly receive help and the Gospel.

Cornerstone’s New Recovery Ministry (offering taken on Anniversary Sunday, May 1)
Led by Cornerstone members, our new recovery ministry will be where people with “hurts, habits and hang ups” can find support, encouragement and freedom in Christ through a local church family who understands and cares.

Cstone’s New Children’s Church: Activate! (offering taken on Anniversary Sunday, May 1)
Starting with Kids Summer Fellowship on June 28-30, our kids will spend the entire 11:00am Service in their own service called, “Activate!.” With a new focus on kids’ worship and small groups, Activate! will be filled with more Jesus-energy, joy and creativity than ever.

TOGETHER IN CELEBRATION
This season of sharing His Miracle will conclude with our 32nd Anniversary service. Like last year, there will be our two regularly scheduled service times, 8:30 & 11:00am. During the Sunday school hour (10:00-11:00am), we will have cake and punch in the Fellowship Hall to continue the celebration. This year, we will recall God’s faithfulness when we began, what the Lord has done this year and what He is yet to do. This will be a great time to have new believers not only go from death to life but from isolation to a new church family.

Cornerstone family, our Savior is Risen and He is triumphant over death and the grave. May Heaven and Earth see our celebration and share in His miracle!

“Together In Jesus . . . Sharing His Miracle!”

Pastor Shawn
